Sheridan Smith (born 25 June 1981) is an English actress, known for playing Janet Keogh (née Smith) in the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, in which Janet is the girlfriend, then wife, and finally widow of Jonny Keogh, played by Ralf Little.
Smith played Cleo Martin in Love Soup and also appeared as Michelle, a hypocritical nutritionist, in the sitcom Grownups, which was the first time she has played the lead character in a TV series. The first series aired on BBC Three on 7 May 2006, followed by a second series that started on 5 August 2007 and the third series began filming in October 2008. She has also appeared on The Lenny Henry Show as M.E. Westmocott, a role spoofing the various medical examiners on CSI.
Smith appeared as Vanessa in Tinderbox: a Revenge Comedy by Lucy Kirkwood at the Bush Theatre, Shepherd's Bush, in April 2008.[5]
Smith has been cast as the lead Elle Woods in the musical version of Legally Blonde as it transfers from Broadway to London's West End in December 2009.
